One of the suggested tags for my last entry was;

So we have Rogernomics, Ruthanasia, and Muldoonism. Heres a few more suggestions;
Clarkism - A political theory which favours that politics be done by someone else, while you are somewhere else.
Tarianaism - A political theory which favours politics without policy.
Cosgrovism - A political theory which favours shooting oneself in the foot before entering politics.
Winstonism - A political theory which favours shooting at everyone elses feet.
Wilsonism - A political theory which views feet as a disadvantage.
Hawkinism - A political theory for which I'm not responsible.

So the Catholic Church has a new Pope. German Joseph Ratzinger has become pope Benedict XVI. He has been a top cardinal at the vatican for 24 odd years, and was a close confidant of John Paul II. Some commentators have said that his conservative views will polarise the church. It is claimed that the more liberal wing of the Church are seeking liberal reforms on things such as women priests, contraception, homosexuality, and the like.
Some people need to get a reality check. This is the Catholic Church, the last bastion of Conservatism, these things are not likely to change. In my view the "liberal wing" of the Catholic Church is on the wrong team, if not in the wrong game.
The Diplomatic Protection squad is the arm of New Zealands police force charged with protecting the Prime-Minister and other dignatries. They do a great job and deserve much recognition for their actions, not just today, but in all circumstances.
The police Commissioner of New Zealand has on many occasions expressed concern over funding for New Zealand's Police force, further citing that resouces are often tied up in protecting dignatries. Perhaps Prime-Minister Clark and her gonernment will take this opportunity to recognise the value of New Zealand's police force and work on getting it fixed.
